Other related fees for membership to “Iwa Dojo” of $65 and is only needed prior to your first belt test. That money is part of our membership to Itokazu Seisho’s dojo in Okinawa, Japan. This is only mandatory if students want to test. Students cannot test unless they are members. You do not have to be a member, but it is highly recommended you do so.

A dojo fee for kobudo of $40 is paid once per year that covers all belt testing you do in a year. Belt ranks in kobudo do not parallel belt ranks in karate. The dojo kobudo fee gives you – 10% discount on most martial arts equipment from martial arts suppliers ordered through the dojo and belts earned as you advance.

Membership for Iwa Dojo for Kobudo allows students to go to quarterly training seminars/testing held at the dojo in Broomfield, discounts on seminars and training fees at events, and testing eligibility.

Okinawan weapons you are taught up to black belt are bo, sai, tunkua, and nunchaku.

After one has earned their black belt you will learn, eku, tinbei, nunti, kuwa, sansetsukon, kama, and suruchin.

Knee-High Samurai! Starts in April!

We are getting set up to start our Knee-High Samurai class! This is a 30 minute pre-karate class designed for children 3 to 6 years old.

Knee-High Samurai focus on 8 skills
Focus
Teamwork
Control
Balance
Memory
Discipline
Fitness
Coordination

Each completed skill earns a stripe on their belt, when they have all eight skills they can test for their next belt. The skill categories remain the same from belt to belt, but become more difficult as they progress. Once a 3-6 year old has completed all three belts (or if they turn 7) they can test to join the traditional karate class!

Fill out the contact form if you are interested in signing up for Knee-High Samurai!
